Blind cannot see as Humans

This is Billy Bob and the Consortium
Let’s Have a Conversation Today

Not Good Morning, What’s Up Frankie?

Pete, let me sit today, you don’t want none of what’s bugging me infecting the group, y’all just enjoy the chat this morning. Frankie, here is your coffee. Thanks, I need it. Okay, but I still want to know what is wrong. We can talk about it, it is alright to be upset, you know. Pete don’t start with me today. Okay Frankie, I won’t just stay here, don’t leave, stay with us and just rest with us today while we chat, okay? Okay, I can do that.

Hey guys, how is everybody doing today? One of Frankie’s bad days? Yeah, one of his real bad days. Alright, let’s just let him breathe for a while and then see if he will slip into the conversation. I know what is bugging him, and it would be good for the group, but I am not crossing him. Oh, Billy Bob, go drink coffee. Pete, I am sorry, but I would like you to join us today. Why, so I can hurt and be more upset, and you guys can ask all kinds of dumb questions. No, not dumb questions, important ones.

Morning, coffee and treats are here, and I think we have our froup topic today, that is, if Frankie will join us without making us wear his coffee this morning. Pete, what is going on? Everybody is tense and not happy today to have coffee together? We all have our bad days, whether we have a home or not, and when we have one out here, we have no privacy to have it alone. Makes sense, sorry Frankie. I join in if y’all will quit talking about me like I ain’t here or something. We aren’t talking about you, just concerned, you are family.

Alright me, and my mood, my bad mood, my being out of sorts to be polite boils down to this, why can’t they just be nice, or kind or just know that we are humans in need of help. Frankie, what happened yesterday after coffee time? You all know Micky, not so good in the head, and as harmless as a dove, they were just picking on him and throwing stuff at him and would not leave him alone. You did not start a fight, did you? No, but I got him out of there and got him food and to a safe place. Okay, I understand you’re so upset this morning, he is special to you. Yeah, why can’t they at least see us as humans?

Pete, people are a weird group of creatures, you have the good ones, the bad, the real good ones, and then you get a few bad apples that simply mess it up for all of us. So, Mike, why do we always find the bad apples? Now Frankie, if that were so, we would not eat, drink coffee, have fresh shirts, or anything like that, a few bad apples. Remember, the bad apples always infect the rest if not separated out. Right, Sally, but why do they make us out to be the bad apples? Truthfully, because they are scared!

Hey folks, it’s me, Billy Bob, let me break in for a moment and bring you up to speed on our coffee conversation. We are all human and have real bad days, but out here, where no one wants us around and finding a spot to be hidden is hard, emotions and frustration can boil over easily. Frankie often gets hit hard because he looks so different from the rest of us, it is not different than being bullied in the real world. But it would be nice to be seen as human, but that ain’t going to happen any time soon.

Hey, Frankie, I am sorry what happened to your friend, that ain’t right, but I am glad you were there for him. Me too, Mike, with him not being so right in the head, he can get tough to handle and they just throw him in jail as if that will fix the problem. His family threw him out and now the world is doing the same thing. Yeah, we all have the weak one or two that we try and stand for so that they are okay out here, since the world has given up on us.

Was it not that long ago that they were marching and protesting about the Me Too and My Body and BLM ideas and they all expected to be heard and understood, and when they were not, they went silly-headed. But when it comes to homeless issues, they use all kinds of terms and phrases to make it sound as if we have lost our humanity when we lose our housing, but we still have souls. Johnny Boy, you are on target again this morning, and it gets all of us upset. Humanity it is given to all with the soul that God alone can and does create in His image, I mean, is it that complicated? Easy Mike, we hear you, and you are absolutely right.

Every time we are arrested, or food is thrown at us, people yell at us, call us every name under the sun, and make us seem as if we would be better off 6 feet under the ground than sleeping on the sidewalk.  Sally, have you had you had any of these problems in your short time out here? Not since landing out here, but with my landlord when he was evicting me, man, he was harsh and it was as if when the money dried up, I was worth nothing to him or the company. That is what I am talking about, Sally. I know Frankie.

Okay, let’s all stop and breathe, we cannot forget about those who have blessed us and helped us and gotten us food and water and drinks and if we get so upset and forget that then we are in trouble. Coffee is so good every morning, and they may not say you are human, but their kindness speaks volumes that we need to remember. Pete, why do you always bring me back to reality? You do it so well. I love those who help, and yet I still get so upset. Frankie, in our world, it is so easy to forget that we are human and if we allow the few who refuse to see us as not human, then we are the losers. Too bad we can’t be like the hippies of the 1960’s and be those who passed out flowers to everyone, put smiles on their faces. Mike, that would be funny, I wonder how they would react to that from a bunch of homeless dudes.

Hey, Billy Bob and Bill here, this was a tough one this morning. Humanity, the greatest and at times the worst thing on the planet. Somehow humans have allowed themselves to be programmed to think that humanity has a scale, a weight, a balance that is lost when a person does not look like, act like, behave like, live likem and that is what has happened to the homeless community, humanity lost. But if I told the truth, I think it is fear based, y’all are afraid, if you see us as humans, then you will know that you have made mistakes and change has to come to the Industrial Complex surrounding the homeless, Opps, I said, sorry, have a great day.
