Run, Run Barb, Get into Hiding

Run, Run Barb, Get into Hiding

Hey, Billy Bob, hey, Billy, do you have a minute? Barb, are you okay?  You normally stay way out of sight.

Billy, they have found me, they have found my hiding spot!

I am so afraid, I did not think they could, but they did, they did, they found it.  Barb, are you absolutely sure? Yes, he always told me if I walked out, he would search for me, to bring me back to the house. And I saw the same car multiple times yesterday.

Billy Bob, I have been up most of the night and moving and ducking and making sure no one would see me making my way to you, this can’t be, this just can’t be, my life is on the line. If he finds me, even after all this time it is over, he will be sure of it, the bruises and injuries will pale in comparison. He will make no one ever finds any of me, help me, please.

All right, you know the emergency plan, we don’t even speak it, you know it, put it into action now, go, do it, and I will do my part, you will be safe, go, emergency plan now. Yes, I will see you soon.  I will notify Frankie and Johnny Boy for their part, go Barb, go, move out now.

Barb, hey, are you okay?  Were you followed at all? No, were you?  I double-checked myself so often that I got myself dizzy and was nearly running in circles. Now, Barb, Frankie, and Johnny Boy have done their part, and that is all you need to hear about, the plan has worked, and that is good. Okay, you are now safe again he will not be able to find you, the plan has been fully executed and you can breathe if not relax. Barb just sits down and breaths and starts crying, I am just tired.

Billy, I wonder how long I must hide and be invisible before it is safe to go back to real life again. Will I ever have a life again, one of not having to hide, eat trash, shower in sinks, and hope for the kindness of strangers?  Honestly, from what you have told me, I do not think it will happen any time soon, sadly.  Thank you, I am going to go and disappear now, thanks I will see you again someday soon. Okay Barb, I am sorry I could not do more, be safe. I am going to miss our morning talks for a little bit now, until things settle down and I am more comfortable.

Billy Bob do not apologize, you have done more for me out here than my family did for me before I walked not the night. The life of being a scared street person is tough, and I am grateful that I can trust you. Thank you for making sure they will not find me for a spell, while I try to make sense of this mess. Okay, Barb, you know already how we will get food and water to you, so no worries, stay hidden and rest for now.

Domestic Violence!

Our nation has not found a way to protect the assaulted party

Hiding and living in fear is the only hope some have of trying to not die

Never working, no family, no church, no home, in total fear

No true protection when hey ‘cooperate with the police

The Coffee Cool Down

Billy Bob, I saw him, yes, indeed I saw that thug and I gave him a humdinger of a scare without even touching him and spilled his coffee!  Yes, he spilled his coffee I scared him so good. Frankie, what did you do?  He stepped out of a coffee all calm and quiet like nothing was going on, so I walked up and put on my crazy homeless dud act, and it worked!  Please Frankie, not the one where you try and eat your socks? Yes, Sir Mr. Billy Bob, that is the one with all the drool and mess and noise, he got so darn scared and took off for his car. A wife beater gets what he gets out here without us touching them, today it was my crazy homeless act.

IBilly Bob, please tell me the plan has worked, I got a glimpse of that man lurking around her old area as we were moving this morning, please did it work? Yes, she was here just a bit ago and I sent her on her way to get some rest and lay low and stay deeply out of sight. We would take care of her. Oh, Billy Bob, you didn’t get to see what I did, Frankie, top-rated crazy homeless man act, the best today, almost scared me! As much as I love my coffee it was fun to see him spoil his as that wife-beater ran in fear for his car with no laying a hand on him.

You two are good at your protection detail and I promise you this Barb is grateful, and I know she is resting quietly because she knows that we have her back, and she is safe.  The world, the police, and the law cannot protect her, but somehow, we’re able to provide a level of safety out here on the streets. Let’s get some food from our backpacks and sit and rest, it has been a day to remember.

Billy Bob, why can this nation which is good at protecting other nations not be able to protect its own most vulnerable? What I mean to say is this, abused kids that end up in foster care, beaten ladies that have no safe haven, the unborn, all are nearly unprotected, why Frankie, can you tell me? Johnny Boy, you must dig deep into the failures of a nation for that answer, but its root is as ancient as the bible, dishonoring God.

But Frankie, we just dumb, throw-away humans how can we see that this nation needs God, and all them smart, employed, housed folk keep tossing Him aside and not understanding the problems it causes? Johnny remember the frog in the pot of water that gets boiled to death, it does not happen at all at once nor quickly, and that is why the frog stays put and dies. America is dying.

Okay, everybody, food break, too serious, and too deep after the rough day we have had, a very serious subject but for a different moment in time, breath friends, breath. We cannot be more serious than the housed folks now, can we? It’s me, Billy Bob, let me wrap up with this:

Domestic Violence is real, it is deadly, and it is why many ladies are on the streets, they cannot be protected in the ’real’ world. No court orders of protection do not work, a lady can be shot from over 500 feet away, she can be stabbed to death before someone reports the violation, her car is damaged, and the list goes on. But, that is your problem, you who have homes and yet fail to protect, that is on y’all, we got our protection detail down out here, we don’t let anything happen to the ladies.

Oh, that crazy homeless dude act can switch to real in a heartbeat, we all have one if we need to protect someone. Find a way to protect the vulnerable America!
